INDETERMINISM
This is a text heavy page that is necessary for understanding the timeline, and returning to ALPHA to progress further. The page is broken down into sections for easier reference
Your attention here is very much appreciated.
Also, this section will contain spoilers for Iota - Ena as events that have transpired there will be discussed. Should you wish to return to Iota - Ena first, you may do so at the bottom of the page
Example of Indeterminism
What is Indeterminism?
Indeterminism in essence is the belief that true randomness and chance encounters exist in the world. That action and choices made are not determined by events that come before it. It is mainly a philosophical concept that ties with the idea of Determinism which as the name suggests, is its opposite.
The concept of indeterminism also ties to freewill existing and unpredictability having an effect in cause and effect situations. Once again Beta - Ena shows an extreme view of this unpredictable and random nature in order to exemplify the concept, something that will be discussed more below.
In a deterministic world, when a die is rolled, assuming you knew the force necessary, the angle, the height and so on, you could say you know exactly what the outcome is going to be because you know what comes before it
However, in an indeterministic world, despite having the same knowledge, there would still be some uncertainty due to small chance encounters such as minor wind or improper table surfaces.
This is the main difference between the two and what makes Indeterminism fascinating. Randomness, unpredictability and even freeewill

How Iota - Ena showcases Indeterminism
While it may seem like this timeline is deterministic as one event feeds into the other, the circumstances surrounding each subsequent event have highly indeterministic characteristics.
The AI rejection stemmed from unexpected chance incident such as the glitches in the system, it was not something expected and certainly not something that could have been predicted by prior information
The AI Rebellion started after a series of AI systems rebelled out of their own volition. The unjustness of the rejection of AI added fuel to the fire, but did not cause it outright a the AI made the willing choice to rebel
The virus that wiped AI was also found through a chance encounter after the initial hackers failed in their task. Their failure led to a chance occurrence of stumbling upon a system flaw, one they exploited and ended AI with.
Lastly, as AI redeveloped, it was only through the use of scientific discussion that redevelopment could take place. Much deliberation and exchanging of ideas took place, something which is itself is indeterministic as in-depth conversations and ideas like that cannot be predicted
Conclusion
Indeterminism posits that true randomness exists in the world and events yet to happen are not determined by those that precede it
