As World War 3 ravaged the Earth, the little remaining existence of humanity is threatened. With the means for day to day survival being nearly depleted by the war, their last hope is for the colony on Mars to return to help them survive the coming extinction.
Similarly on Mars, the colony struggles against dwindling resources and isolation. With the colony always knowing they would have to return to Earth one day, the realization dawns that their fate is intertwined with that of their home planet.
Relying on each other, both the surviving humans and the Martians are trying to save not just themselves, but humanity itself
